This was our first "real" date. It was September 21, 2000, the day after Eric's birthday. I flew in from Sacramento to see him and the plan all along was for me to come in on the 21st, but I surprised him and flew in a day early. I had it all planned out with Paul & Betty and Ane. Ane was making a cake and Betty was picking me up from the airport. I talked to him the night before and said that I ran into a bunch of guys I used to hang out with in school and we were going to hang out on his birthday since I was coming until the next day. So, I didn't answer his calls all day and his messages just kept getting sadder and sadder, anyways, I flew in and they picked me up and we went straight to Beehive Bail Bonds, since he was working that night. I hid in the back of the car, under a blanket and there were some presents that I brought him on the seat in front of me. He came out to tell Betty and Ane how happy he was that he got insurance and they kept telling him to look in the car for some presents that the kids got for him and one time when he reached in the car, I grabbed his arm and he jumped. It was the coolest surprise!!! But, then he surprised me when we went inside and I thought I brought him a lot of presents but he surprised me with a stack of presents on his birthday. It was one of my favorite memories!!! This picture was taken the next day in Paul and Betty's house (which is why their pic is the background). We were going to the Roof Restaurant for a fancy dinner. Thanks to Paul for taking this picture and thanks to Ane and Betty for being a part of my big surprise!!!
